Sydney – The Year-Round City

Sydney is without a doubt one of the most famous cities in the world, and with good reason too. This is Australia’s largest and most cosmopolitan city, and you will find some of the most iconic architecture and attractions here. For a city break with a truly natural yet busy feel, this is the city for you.

Of course, any city in the world will have a plethora of accommodation options available, and when trying to figure out where is best for you, it can be hard to narrow down your choices. Budget has to come into it, but so does location. Thankfully the large range of Sydney accommodation means there is something for everyone, but if you are wanting to explore the main attractions, then basing yourself in the city centre is probably the best bet for you.

The Harbour City

Sydney is referred to by locals as the Harbour City, and that is pretty much because it is based on a harbour! The waterside location gives it that cosmopolitan feel, but it is also a very vibrant, lively, and diverse city too; it’s not unusual to hear countless different languages being spoken throughout the space of a day. Packed with history by the bucket-load, nature, fashion, art, amazing shopping opportunities, and beach-side fun, you will be needing to plan your visit, if you want to pack everything in!

Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge are iconic, and these are two must-visit places during your stay. On top of this, head to Bondi Beach for a slightly more chilled out day, although do be aware that there are still going to be crowds, this being a famous beach and all! The Rocks is a vibrant part of the city centre, where you will find entertainment and dining, as well as Darling Harbour, with lots of walking trails and entertainment, museums, shopping, and dining choices. If you want to splash the cash in the hope to win big however, then City West is where you need to be heading, home of the huge Star Casino.

A City for Every Season

There really is no bad time to visit Sydney, although summer is the most vibrant and lively time. Of course, this also means higher temperatures, but you can simply head to the beach to cool off! Winter time runs from June until August, the temperatures are only described as cooler, rather than cold, so you can easily walk around without having to bulk up! Sydney overall enjoys around 300 sunny days per year, so sunglasses are a must.
